What is Midwifery Care?

Midwifery care offers complete prenatal medical care together with the continuous support many women feel is missing in standard appointments.
Your midwife is a licensed professional trained to monitor your pregnancy, identify complications, and keep you and your baby safe — while also providing time, communication, and personal attention.

Clinical Care

Midwives provide full prenatal monitoring:
• routine checkups
• blood pressure and fetal growth
• lab work and screening reviews
• referrals when needed
You receive the same clinical oversight you would from a physician, with the added benefit of consistent follow-up.

Continuity and Access

Instead of rotating providers, you have one midwife who gets to know you and follows your pregnancy from start to finish.
You have easy access between visits for questions, updates, and reassurance.

Longer, Unhurried Visits

Appointments are structured to give you time — to ask, understand, process, and plan.
Your physical and emotional needs are both part of the conversation.

Woman-Centered Care

You’re a partner in your care.
Your values, preferences, and experiences shape the approach, helping you feel informed and supported as you move toward birth and postpartum.

Midwifery care brings together safety, continuity, and personal guidance — giving you the comprehensive care you and your baby need.

“It is so nice to have someone I can actually call if there’s any concern or question.

I highly recommend their services. It’s one of the best investments you can do for your physical as well as your mental health!”

Meet the Midwives of MyMiyaledet

Dena Weinstein and Reena Grant bring a combined wealth of experience in midwifery — from years in busy hospital delivery rooms to caring for women in the community and beyond.

After decades of guiding women through pregnancy and birth, they both felt something was missing in the standard prenatal system: time, continuity, accessibility and truly personal care.
They wanted to give women more.

That vision led them to open MyMiyaledet, a place where midwives can offer the kind of thoughtful, attentive, relationship-based care they believe every woman deserves.

Dena Weinstein, CNM, MHA

I am a midwife driven by the deep belief that birth is a powerful, natural process.
With nearly 30 years of experience in the field, my journey began after completing my Nursing and Midwifery training at Columbia University, followed by decades of hands-on work in busy labor and delivery rooms. I later earned a Master’s in Health Administration from Tel Aviv University, which strengthened my ability to build and lead high-quality, woman-centered maternity care.

I spent many years working full-time in hospital settings, including four years managing a labor ward — experience that gave me a strong, comprehensive clinical foundation and the confidence to handle any situation with calm and clarity.

My practice is rooted in the understanding that the mind and body are intricately connected, especially during childbirth. Drawing on my training in Birth Oriented Thinking (B.O.T.), a professional field that focuses on the emotional dimensions of birth, I support clients in navigating the psychological and emotional landscape of this transformative experience, while also teaching focusing—a gentle, experiential process of self-inquiry that engages the body’s “felt sense” to access deeper insight and foster profound healing.

I live in Yerushalayim with my husband and family, and when I’m not working, you’ll likely find me enjoying time with my grandchildren, all of whom I delivered.

I love practicing mindfulness, focusing and yoga, integrating the tools I teach into my personal life as well.

Today, I bring that wealth of knowledge directly to you. In my private clinic, I focus on personalized, comprehensive care. I love preparing couples for this incredible transition through my prenatal classes, and I feel privileged to lead birth processing workshops and one-on-one sessions — helping women integrate their birth experiences and find empowerment in their stories.

My passion is making your journey to parenthood informed, safe, and positive.

Reena Grant, CNM, MA

For the past 23 years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for women through every stage of their reproductive journeys, both as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Bodeket Taharah. My approach is grounded in continuity of care, deep respect, and a belief in the physical, emotional, and spiritual wholeness of every woman I serve. I’m known for bringing a personal touch, patience, creativity, and a calm, soothing presence to each birth experience.

My path to midwifery actually began in carpool—yes, really. Standing on my “soapbox,” proclaiming that I wanted to be a doctor who delivered babies, I was gently guided by the Rebbetzin of my shul toward midwifery instead. She was right. That summer, I interned at the American College of Nurse-Midwives, where I was introduced to the mission and vision of midwifery care—its focus on women, wellness, and the broader picture of lifelong health.

I later attended the University of Maryland School of Nursing, where I had the opportunity to work on midwifery legislation at the state house alongside the director of the Midwifery program. Although I had planned to continue into that program, life had other plans: I got married and moved to Israel.

In Israel, I joined the Midwifery Program at Sheba/Tel HaShomer and later earned a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Haifa–Mivchar. I was trained as a Bodeket Taharah by Dr. Chava Yael Shreiber through Zir Chemed’s program, which profoundly expanded the halachic and medical support I can offer women.

I live in Yerushalayim with my wonderful husband and our large family. Family is my anchor, and I work intentionally to ensure my professional life supports—rather than interrupts—the time I cherish with them. In addition to the prenatal clinic, I currently work as a staff Midwife in one of Jerusalem’s busiest birthing hospitals and I still feel a thrill every time I have the zchus of welcoming new life into the world. In my rare snippets of spare time (do they count if they last under three minutes?), you’ll find me learning new skills, taking new courses, and expanding the care I can offer. Creativity is my happy place—whether through arts and crafts, storytelling, or imagining the birthing center I hope to open one day.

I love every part of pregnancy and childbirth, and I consider it an honor to walk with women through such profound, transformative moments. If you’re seeking care that is warm, personal, informed, and grounded in genuine respect for your experience—you’re in the right place.

We are honored to be working hands on with women during the pre and postnatal periods in MyMiyaledet Prentatal Clinic. This is our first stepping stone towards changing the face of midwifery care in Israel.
